Dubai will launch the first edition of STARS, a new international summit themed "For the Human of the Future," running from November 18 to 21 as part of this year's Dubai Future Week. The four-day gathering will take place across Emirates Towers and the Museum of the Future, bringing together scientists, researchers, artists and creative thinkers from around the world to discuss how advancing technology will shape humanity's future.
The programme includes more than 20 talks and dialogues, 10 art-and-technology installations, and 30 interactive research showcases, each exploring a different facet of progress in artificial intelligence, robotics and other emerging fields. One of the summit's headline features is the first Dubai appearance of the MIT Senseable City Lab's Open Lab, which will present innovations spanning artificial intelligence, urban technology, data systems, smart infrastructure and mobility.
Organisers say the goal of STARS is to examine how scientific and technological breakthroughs can shape the way people live, work and create in the years ahead, pairing hard science with artistic and creative perspectives rather than treating them as separate tracks. The summit's setting at the Museum of the Future, one of Dubai's best-known symbols of forward-looking design, reinforces the city's positioning as a global venue for conversations about what comes next in technology and society.
Dubai Future Week has grown over the years into an annual platform hosting multiple innovation and foresight events, and the addition of STARS this year expands that line-up with a programme that explicitly pairs scientific research with artistic practice, drawing an international roster of speakers and exhibitors to the city for four days in November.
